
DSCPA Scholarship Application
Do I qualify for a DSCPA Scholarship?
Eligibility
To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a Delaware resident or attend a Delaware college or university.
- Be an Accounting major and have successfully completed Intermediate Accounting I.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from an accounting professor.
- Submit a statement that indicates your future career goals and the reason you are applying for this scholarship.
- Intend to sit for the
CPA exam.
Application Procedure
The following items must be completed and sent to the DSCPA by May 2, 2008 in order to qualify for a scholarship. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Application Complete online, print and then sign. Handwritten applications will be rejected.
- Transcript An official transcript with seal from the previous semester which shows cumulative GPA, total credit hours completed and hours completed during the previous semester, and completion of Intermediate Accounting I.
- Accounting Faculty Letter of Recommendation Must be completed by an accounting faculty member, signed and included in a sealed envelope with the accounting faculty member's signature across the envelope seal.
- Statement of goals.
- Résumé A current résumé.
Selection Criteria/Award Amount
- Scholarships from $1,000 to $2,500 will be awarded annually.
- Recipients will be notified of their award in May, which must be accepted in writing or by phone. Phone confirmations must be followed up with a written confirmation within 10 days.
- Recipients of the 5th year scholarship will be asked to certify their continued education by submitting a certified course schedule for the fall semester no later than September 30, 2008.
- DSCPA's Scholarship Selection Committee, in its sole discretion, may alter, deviate from or amend the guidelines listed above in the best interest of the scholarship program.
- Awards will be paid in May or June at the DSCPA Annual Meeting.
- Awards for the 5th year scholarship will be paid on or before October 15, 2008, after their continued education has been verified.
